Jomo K. Alakoye-Simmons

Licensed Acupuncturist & Qi Gong Therapist

 

 

Professional History 

Born in NYC, reared in the Bronx and Harlem, with family extending back to 1918 in Harlem, Jomo K. Alakoye-Simmons is a licensed Acupuncturist and Qi-Gong Therapist. He has studied both Classical Chinese Medicine and TCM and received a Masters of Science from the Swedish Institute in New York City. Under 88th generation Daoist, Priest Jeffrey C. Yuen, Jomo has also studied Qi Gong, essential oil, diet and stone therapy; in addition to other systems of healing and self-cultivation with various teachers and practioners.

 

Additional Work - Related Information

Jomo is also certified by the CCAOM in the Clean Needle Technique and NCCAOM Board Certified. He presently does volunteer work with Mothers on the Move, a community organization located in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. He is also an active practitioner with the Rock Dove Collective, a "radical community health exchange working to address the need for accessible and anti-oppressive health care in our communities, utilizing mutual aid."

 

Jomo is a practitioner with the pain management team at Daughters of Jacob nursing home.
